Update log

Everything that gets better in Fabrik

Big features and small fixes alike: every change to the app is recorded here, since day one.

June 2026

23 updates
New

Adjustable banner text size in layout mode

A new "Text size" setting (8 to 48 pt) is available in the banner properties panel in layout mode. You can now scale the "EVACUATION PLAN / INTERVENTION PLAN" title up or down, both on screen and in your exports.

Fix

Plan rotation and framing stay consistent between the editor and document mode

Plan rotation is now preserved when switching to document mode, and the plan no longer drifts off screen when rotated. When you return to the editor, the plan reappears exactly as you left it: zoom and position are restored.

Fix

Fixed a blocker when creating a plan

Some accounts could get stuck with an unexpected technical error when creating a new plan. The root cause has been fixed: plan creation works again for everyone.

Fix

Improved platform reliability

Behind-the-scenes stability work: multi-account workspaces are better tested, scheduled tasks are better protected, and data has been brought into full consistency. Nothing changes on screen, but the app is more dependable day to day.

Fix

More reliable payment emails and stronger security

Payment confirmation emails sent in bursts are no longer lost, and subscription syncing with Stripe is more resilient to incidents. Access to sensitive database functions has been locked down and session privacy reinforced.

Fix

Sharp PDF exports with imported plan backgrounds

Exported PDFs came out blurry when the plan was built on an imported background (PDF or image). Backgrounds are now processed in high resolution (300 DPI) at import time: affected exports are about twice as sharp. Plans drawn entirely in Fabrik were already sharp and are unchanged.

Fix

Monthly quotas aligned with your renewal date

Plan quotas now reset only once per cycle, on your subscription anniversary date, instead of twice a month. Duplicating a plan now counts toward the quota and suggests the right subscription tier when you hit the limit.

Fix

Doors and windows match the wall's actual thickness

Doors and windows now follow the real thickness of the wall they sit in — thin for a partition, wide for an exterior wall — in the editor as well as in PDF and SVG exports. Changing a wall's thickness updates its openings instantly.

Fix

More reliable autosave

Scale recalibration, renaming or hiding a layer, the safety team, emergency numbers and annotations are now always saved automatically — no more silent losses after a reload.

Fix

Undo/Redo restores walls correctly

After an undo (Ctrl+Z), a restored wall could become invisible or impossible to select. Undo and redo now rebuild the plan correctly: restored elements are visible and selectable again.

Fix

Background images no longer disappear when reopening a plan

The background image (scanned or imported plan) is now reliably preserved on save: it always reappears when you reopen the plan.

Fix

Settings chosen at plan creation are now saved properly

The description, format, orientation, building and plan type chosen in the creation wizard are now saved correctly, in particular for video surveillance plans.

Fix

The automatic legend now shows your custom pictograms

The legend generated automatically in document mode now includes your imported pictograms, complete with their image, alongside the ISO pictograms from the catalog.

NewHighlight

Camera tools for video surveillance plans

New tools dedicated to video plans: draw your cameras' coverage zones (translucent green areas with adjustable color and opacity) and number each camera automatically. Numbering badges can sit inside or outside the pictogram, and show up on screen as well as in exports.

Fix

No more plans reopening empty, plus automatic draft recovery

An already-saved plan (notably video surveillance) could reopen on the import screen as if it were empty: that is fixed. If you leave the editor before a save finishes, the newer local draft is now restored and saved automatically on reopening, and a failed save is clearly flagged instead of wrongly showing "Saved".

Fix

Stronger protection against losing plan content

Fixed an issue that could wipe a plan's content (mostly video surveillance and intrusion plans): an empty save could overwrite your work after an internal editor reload. The editor no longer resets itself mid-edit, and now refuses to save an empty version over a plan that contains elements — without raising false failure alerts while you navigate.

Improvement

Stronger security across the platform

Stricter validation of imported files (images and SVG), notification links restricted to the app to prevent external redirects, Stripe payment flows secured end to end, and sensitive data cleared on sign-out. PDF exports and long AI jobs also get extended timeouts for better reliability.

Fix

AI plan import made reliable for large plans

"Process with AI" now runs in the background with progress tracking: large plans are no longer cut off by timeouts before the analysis finishes. If processing fails, your AI credit is refunded automatically.

Fix

A batch of fixes in the plan editor

Doors and windows are now created at their real-world size (90 cm and 120 cm) regardless of the plan's scale. The zone properties panel updates instantly, text changes (content, size, rotation) are properly tracked by Undo/Redo, and the toolbar highlights the correct active symbol (assembly point, "You are here", north arrow).

Fix

More reliable DXF import

After a successful DXF import, the view now automatically recenters on the imported plan — no more seemingly empty canvas. Import now supports legacy polyline formats from CAD software, and a warning message lists unsupported elements instead of reporting a misleading success.

Improvement

Reliability notice before AI analysis

Before running AI processing on an imported plan, a confirmation dialog now shows the expected reliability level based on your establishment's ERP category (public-access building type), reminds you of your duty to verify the result (ISO 7010 / NF X08-070) and shares import tips. A dedicated warning flags the AI's limits on open-air venues (type X).

NewHighlight

New 2026 pricing

Our new pricing is here: a redesigned subscription page that makes plans easier to compare, one-off export packs, and unlimited print proof (BAT) previews reserved for paid plans. Existing customers keep their current terms — nothing to do on your end.

Improvement

More reliable team seat management

Member limits per organization are now aligned with the new pricing, with clearer invitations when the quota is reached. Seat counts adjust automatically when you change or cancel a subscription, with no undue charges when extra seats renew.

NewHighlight

New plan families: SSI (fire safety system), intrusion and video surveillance

Beyond evacuation plans, you can now create SSI (fire safety system) plans, intrusion alarm plans and video surveillance plans. The creation wizard lets you pick a family, and the editor adapts automatically: pictograms, safety instructions, layers and PDF exports all match the chosen family. The dashboard shows a badge on each plan, with filters to find every type in one click.

Improvement

CNIL-compliant cookie choices

The cookie banner is replaced by a clear consent dialog shown on your first visit: declining is as easy as accepting, in line with CNIL recommendations.

Fix

Subscription and billing fixes

Custom plans with unlimited AI credits are now recognized correctly. The next billing date also shows the exact time of the charge.

Fix

A batch of editor fixes

No more crashes when moving curved walls connected to drawings. Intervention plan legends no longer show duplicate pictograms, safety instructions stay consistent when you change the plan type, and isolated wall endpoints render more cleanly.

Fix

Stronger account security

Disabling two-factor authentication (2FA) now requires re-entering your password. And if the same plan is open in several tabs, a warning banner stays permanently visible in the secondary tab so you don't overwrite your changes.

Fix

More reliable password reset emails

Password reset emails stopped going out after just a few requests per hour: delivery now runs through a dedicated service with no rate limit. The email also arrives in a new template in Fabrik's colors.

Fix

Fixed PDF export for intervention plans

Converting an evacuation plan into an intervention plan now correctly captures every floor, and the PDF export completes every time. Blue selection handles no longer show up in the exported document, even if a floor was selected at export time.

Improvement

Profile completion built into sign-up

You now enter your name and company in the very first onboarding step, rather than through a pop-up in the editor. Your first plan-creation session is never interrupted again.

Improvement

Safety instructions text size adjustable up to 300%

A slider in the instructions block's properties panel lets you enlarge the text up to 300% (up from 160%), keeping instructions perfectly readable even on large-format prints. When resizing, the block compacts empty space first before shrinking the text.

Performance

Faster loading for your plans and notifications

Data access has been sped up: your plan list and notification center now load noticeably faster, especially for accounts and organizations with many plans.

Fix

No more duplicate emails, plus protection against plan overwrites

You will no longer receive the same reminder or digest twice, even if a technical incident hits on the sending side. And if a plan's data could not be read on load, autosave now pauses to avoid overwriting your work.

Fix

Multi-floor editor fixes

Switching or deleting a floor no longer runs room detection on the wrong level. Merging walls now removes orphaned doors and windows, selection stays consistent after cascading deletions, and undo/redo now covers the background image and the emergency number.

New

Book a demo in one click

A "Book a demo" button is now available in the dashboard and the editor: it opens the scheduling calendar directly so you can talk with the Fabrik team. The prompt also appears at the right moments, for example after viewing the subscription page.

Design

Dashboard optimized for tablets and small screens

Dashboard pages now display better on tablets and small screens: tighter spacing, resized plan cards and thumbnails, and adjusted side panels that leave more room for your content.

Improvement

Dedicated message when opening the editor on a small screen

The plan editor is designed for desktop use. On screens narrower than 1024 px, a clear message now offers to go back to your plans or continue anyway, instead of an unusable interface.

Fix

Evacuation arrows point the right way on rotated plans

Directional pictograms (evacuation arrows, emergency exits) now rotate with the plan so they always point in the right direction, while standard pictograms (fire extinguisher, assembly point, first aid) stay upright and readable.

Fix

The legend always appears in the visible area of the plan

When you enable "Show legend", it now appears right in your field of view instead of popping back at its old spot, sometimes far across the canvas. No more scrolling around to find it after switching plans or zoom levels.

Fix

More reliable welcome emails, reminders and digests

The Enterprise contact form works again, welcome emails are automatically resent if delivery fails, and reminder campaigns (trial ending, plan not exported, reactivation and more) now go out daily as intended. The daily digest also arrives at the time you chose, in Paris time.

Fix

Stronger protection for your data

Following a full security audit, isolation between accounts has been hardened: AI credits, export counters, plan files and thumbnails are strictly restricted to their owner. Automatic notification URLs pointing to your external tools are also verified to block any malicious redirect.

Fix

More reliable payments and subscriptions

Purchases of AI credits and extra seats are now handled as a single safe operation: no more missing credits or duplicates if something goes wrong during payment. The Discovery plan now unlocks correctly after purchase, even without an active subscription.

Fix

A more robust editor: multiple tabs and background images

Opening the same plan in several tabs no longer causes save conflicts. Background images are now stored in an optimized way, making your plans lighter and faster to save, and autosave no longer fires needlessly when you open a plan.

Improvement

Subscription page updated with the Discovery plan

The subscription area now features the Discovery plan, which replaces the old free tier, along with one-off purchases to unlock a plan's exports.

NewHighlight

New Discovery plan: start for free, unlock your plan for €9.99

Create your evacuation plan for free with a complimentary wall quota, then unlock the full plan — advanced tools, premium pictograms and PDF, PNG and SVG exports — with a one-time €9.99 purchase. A remaining-walls counter and locks on reserved features guide you every step of the way.

New

Customizable safety instructions block

Adjust the instructions text size with a global slider, add your own image as an instructions block, and double-click the block to jump straight into its layout editor.

Fix

More reliable floor management

Fixed a bug that could lose the ground floor's content when adding a new floor. Floor operations now trigger an immediate save, and deleting a floor no longer leaves orphaned references in the plan.

Fix

More reliable plan autosave

No more "Save conflict" messages wrongly appearing when opening certain plans: saving and thumbnail generation no longer get in each other's way, and a transient conflict is now resolved automatically without interrupting your work.

Improvement

Clearer locked features

Reserved tools and pictograms now show a tooltip explaining how to unlock them, and they can no longer be bypassed via drag and drop.

New

Elements panel: per-element visibility and locking

The sidebar now lists every element in your plan (walls, rooms, pictograms, annotations and more) with a thumbnail. Hide, lock, locate or delete any element in one click; selecting an element on the plan automatically highlights it in the list.

Fix

More reliable exports and billing

When a PDF export fails, the message now tells you the actual cause of the error. Your quota is checked before PNG and SVG exports, and payment emails and refund handling have been made more reliable.

April 2026

16 updates
New

Selective floor duplication and leader lines

When duplicating a floor, choose exactly which elements to copy over (walls, pictograms, annotations and more). You can also right-click rectangles and circles to add leader lines and annotate your plans.

Improvement

Print proof (BAT) exports no longer count toward your quota

Print proof exports no longer consume your monthly export quota, and the BAT option is available directly from the layout mode download dialog.

Fix

Team invitations fixed and security hardened

The invitation link to join an organization works again. Export quotas and member roles are now enforced server-side, and your subscription loads faster when you open the app.

Improvement

Adjustable opening width for the scissors tool

The scissors tool now offers preset opening widths (70, 90 or 120 cm) as well as a custom value, so you can cut openings into your walls at the exact dimension you need.

Fix

Multi-page PDF export for multi-level buildings

An evacuation project with several plans now exports as a single multi-page PDF. Intervention plan capture has also been fixed.

New

Print proof with watermark

Generate a print proof (BAT) version of your document with a protective watermark covering the whole page — ideal for client validation before the final export. Plan capture now faithfully respects rotation and drawn zones.

NewHighlight

New layout mode to compose your documents

Compose your final document right inside the editor, Canva-style: the plan, safety instructions, legend and title block can be placed freely on the page. The layout is saved with the plan and restored when you reopen it, and the settings and help screens have been redesigned.

New

Vector PDF export and custom pictograms

PDF exports are now fully vector: perfect sharpness at any print scale, clean wall corners, accurate dimensions and north arrow. Import your own pictograms, name them, and find them in the legend and your exports. New SSI (fire safety system) wiring tools also join the Security menu.

Improvement

Easier onboarding: Google sign-in, sample plan and guided tour

Create your account in one click with Google and discover the editor through a preloaded sample plan and a 4-step guided tour. The free tier now includes a first watermark-free PDF export.

Fix

Fixes following the layout mode launch

Layout mode is now open to everyone, with the quota applying only at download time. The sample plan gets its doors and windows back, the guided tour shows up for every new account, and your company's accent color now carries over to the sidebar.

Improvement

Streamlined download dialog in layout mode

When you export from layout mode, the dialog sticks to the essentials: pick a format (PDF, PNG or SVG) and download. No more redundant composition settings — your document goes out exactly as you composed it.

New

Password reset

Forgot your password? A dedicated page now lets you reset it on your own, straight from the sign-in screen.

Improvement

PDF export: faithful rendering, resizable elements and remembered settings

The exported PDF now matches the preview exactly, whatever the format. Freely resize document blocks (legend, instructions) with content adapting automatically, and keep all your export settings from one session to the next.

Fix

Wall selection fixed in the editor

Selecting and hovering walls works normally again: no more walls that were impossible to grab or that ignored the mouse.

NewHighlight

New Solo, Pro and Unlimited plans

Pricing has been completely rebuilt around three clear plans: Solo, Pro and Unlimited. Every screen, button and plan name across the app has been updated to match.

Improvement

Improved stairs, doors and floor navigation

The stairs tool has been fully reworked, door placement is more precise, and the floor selector is more convenient. Under the hood, security has been strengthened and a large suite of automated tests makes the editor and exports more reliable.

March 2026

6 updates
Improvement

Per-layer opacity and NF-compliant "You are here" pictogram

Adjust each layer's opacity independently to better overlay plan backgrounds and your drawings. The "You are here" pictogram adopts a design compliant with the NF standard. On the free tier, the watermark now shows while editing, with a banner explaining how to remove it, and a bug that locked some paying subscribers into free mode has been fixed.

NewHighlight

New pricing and secure payments via Stripe

Plans have been reworked into four tiers (Starter, Business, Agency, Enterprise) and payments now run through Stripe. Free users can unlock a one-off PDF export for €19.99.

New

Team invitations by email and automated notifications

Invite colleagues into your organization with an invitation email and a dedicated acceptance page. Automated emails (reminders, follow-ups) are now live, a permanent feedback button appears in the interface, and the PDF safety instructions get a more modern design. A dozen bugs are fixed along the way.

NewHighlight

Free tier launch (freemium)

Fabrik is now free to try: create 1 plan per month without a subscription and discover the editor. PDF export remains reserved for paid plans.

Improvement

AI import marked as beta and paused

Automatic AI detection is not yet at the level we expect, so it is temporarily disabled and flagged with a BETA badge while we make it more reliable. Various fixes ship alongside this change.

New

AI import is live, with a redesigned import dialog

Automatic analysis of your imported plans is now wired to production servers: the AI recognizes walls and rooms and converts them straight into editable elements in the editor. The import dialog gets a fresh new look.
